This historic milestone will lay the foundation for global cooperation against high-tech crime, establish a comprehensive cooperation mechanism, share electronic evidence and cross-border investigations, protect human rights, and enhance national digital capacity.

“Vietnam has been proactively and responsibly engaging in the process of negotiations and handling major international and UN issues, including international law matters. Participating in the Hanoi Convention on Cybercrime and hosting this Opening Ceremony clearly demonstrates Vietnam's active role and position in such major processes, its contributions, as well as Vietnam's expectations and meeting the expectations of other countries in solving these issues,” Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Hoang Giang said.

Later in the afternoon, at the high-level plenary session, world leaders will express their resolve to join hands for a safe and humane cyberspace, seek specific cooperation directions in preventing high-tech crimes and protecting women and children from online risks. During the two-day event, there will be high-level activities and sideline discussions.
