He made the remarks in an interview with the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit to Türkiye to attend the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-152) and conduct bilateral activities.

Ambassador Kemik noted that Vietnam, like Türkiye, is a strong supporter of multilateralism and has translated this commitment into a growing presence on the international stage. He said this approach is also reflected in Vietnam’s active parliamentary diplomacy, demonstrating its constructive role in promoting peace and sustainable development.

Vietnam is currently Türkiye’s second-largest trading partner in Southeast Asia, while Türkiye is Vietnam’s largest investment partner in the Middle East, underscoring the depth of their economic ties.

Both countries have significant potential to expand cooperation across a range of strategic areas, including tourism, agriculture, the halal industry, renewable energy, rare earths, infrastructure and logistics, as well as science, technology and digitalisation, according to Ambassador Kemik.
