At a meeting with FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu in Rome, Chairman Man proposed that the FAO assist Vietnam in restructuring its agricultural sector toward higher value-added, greener, smarter, and more sustainable development, with a strong focus on climate change adaptation. He also highlighted the need for support in food system transformation, disease control, particularly zoonotic diseases, and the acceleration of digital transformation in agriculture.

Mr. Qu emphasized that FAO regards Vietnam as a key partner in the region and stands ready to further strengthen cooperation in priority areas such as sustainable food systems, green agriculture, and climate resilience.

Both sides agreed to enhance coordination, maximize the effectiveness of existing programs and projects, and expand cooperation in sustainable agriculture, innovation, and food system transformation.

On the same day, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man met with Chiara Gribaudo, Chair of the Italy-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group.
