Red roses are the center of attention at the Sydney flower market, Australia's largest flower market, as local growers and florists prepare for their busiest day of the year. Michael Bagala, a flower grower, said he prepared 65,000 red rose stems for this special day dedicated to couples in love. “Not everyone’s into the red rose. But these days it’s all about giving something special to someone special, cheering them up, telling them that they love them, giving them something bright, cheerful. Red is also for us a good tradition,” Michael Bagala said.
Flower farmers in Ecuador are busy selecting and packaging the best quality roses for Valentine's Day. Felipe Bustamante, a flower grower, said:
"One thing is for sure, Ecuadorian roses are the best roses in the world for Valentine's Day. I say so because of the outstanding size of the flowers and the length of the stems. This is the biggest rose in the world because it’s grown at an altitude of several thousand meters above sea level.”
