Vietnam thrash Indonesia 3-0 in SEA Games 31's Group A match

In the last 13 encounters at SEA Games, Vietnam won six, draw two and lost five against Indonesia.

The previous SEA Games in 2019 in the Philippines saw Vietnam beating Indonesia 3-0 in the final to win the gold medal.
In this SEA Games, Vietnam and Indonesia were put in group A together with Myanmar, the Philippines and Timor Leste.

Vietnam entered the opening game of SEA Games 31 against Indonesia with the determination to get three points.

They dominated right at the start with many chances created. But the first half ended goalless with many yellow cards given to both teams.

In the second half, Vietnam kept attacking while Indonesia remained in defensive play, and the goals came as a result.

The game ended with a 3-0 win and the first three points for Vietnam in SEA Games 31.

In an earlier match of Group A, the Philippines defeated Timor Leste 4-0.
