Vietnam underlines ocean’s role in global peace, security, development

(VOVWORLD) - Maritime connectivity is a fundamental pillar forglobal peace, security, and development, said Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu at the 8th Indian Ocean Conference (OIC) in Oman earlier this week.

Amidst opportunities and challenges, Vu called on countries to develop a shared vision toward a future of stability, sustainability, and strong linkages across oceans and seas, including the Indian Ocean, the Pacific, and the East Sea.

The Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister also had meetings with the host Oman to boost bilateral ties.
