WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge said 53 WHO members in Europe have once again become epicenters of COVID-19 with cases tripling in the past 9 months. 60% of new COVID cases in the second week of October were in Europe and influenza cases continue to increase.

The elderly, infants, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune system are especially at risk, Kluge warned.
