(VOVworld) - The “2015 Earth Hour Campaign” was launched on Saturday in Ho Chi Minh City on the theme: “time for green actions”. The campaign, with various smaller events and projects, calls for joint efforts for a green future as human actions today reflect the earth’s future. Phung Thai Quang of Ho Chi Minh City’s Youth Union, one of the event’s organizers, said: "Through this event, we hope that every one of us will have specific actions to save energy, build a green living environment, and contribute to climate change mitigation."

Just a few hours after the campaign had been launched, more than 3000 people registered to take part in the campaign as volunteers. Highlights of the campaign include a turn-off–the-lights ceremony scheduled from 20h30 to 21h30 this March 28th at the August Revolution Square in Hanoi.
