Organizing the program, war veterans and veteran businessmen paid gratitude to their comrades in arms who sacrificed their lives during the national struggles for independence and to heroic Vietnamese mothers. The program also honored outstanding war veteran businessmen who have contributed to charity and social security activities.

To mark the occasion, a fund of 3 million USD was granted to organizations including the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, the Learning Promotion Fund. the Comrades in Arms Fund, the Schooling Fund of the Young Age newspaper, and the Paying Gratitude Program of Dong Nai province.
