A plenary session was held on Monday morning to discuss urgent topics selected from proposals of 9 countries. A proposal by Australia and Belgium to deal with terrorism conducted by organizations such as Boko Haram against innocent civilians, in particular women and girls, was approved. IPU regulations say any member can add a topic to the agenda provided it is of global concern and is approved by a 2/3 vote.
