The Vietnamese diplomat was speaking at the recent international workshop on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) attended by representatives from various countries and international organizations in Vienna, Austria.
The event was co-organized by delegations from Austria, Kazakhstan, and Switzerland to exchange views and prepare for the 11th NPT Review Conference, scheduled for the end of April 2026 in New York, USA.
Speaking at the workshop, Hoang stressed that the principle of consensus is a crucial foundation for ensuring the legitimacy and effectiveness of the conference; and called on countries to demonstrate flexibility and a constructive spirit to achieve substantive results. The Ambassador also proposed enhancing the efficiency of the review process, improving working methods, and increasing accountability in honoring commitments.
In his capacity as Chair of the 11th NPT Review Conference, Ambassador Hoang affirmed Vietnam's readiness to cooperate closely with all member states to promote a comprehensive, transparent, and inclusive consultation process, aiming for a positive outcome and contributing to further strengthening the role of the NPT in international peace and security.
