(VOVworld) - The 1st national tourism year – Kien Giang 2016 will open on April 30^th next year and last for the whole year. This will be an opportunity to promote local cultural values, natural resources and tourism products, especially the development of sea and islands tourism in Kien Giang and the Mekong Delta region. Speaking in the steering committee’s meeting in Hanoi on Friday, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh, said the event will include 50 activities, such as a gastronomic festival of the Mekong Delta, national dragon boat racing, folk singing contest and a painting exhibition on sea and islands.
