The new protocol reaffirms both sides’ commitment to multilateralism and free trade, aiming to build an open, inclusive, and rules-based regional market, along with a resilient production and supply chain ecosystem.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar emphasized ASEAN’s central role in maintaining balanced relations with global partners and commended China’s active participation.

Premier Li Qiang reiterated China’s long-term commitment to ASEAN, saying, “ASEAN and China have always stood side by side, supporting each other. As long as we remain united and independent, no challenge will be insurmountable. China is ready to work with ASEAN countries to eliminate external interference, face challenges together, and build a brighter future for all of us.”
