The virus is affecting 214 countries and territories around the world, with North Korea recently reported its first Covid-19 case. Some countries are facing the second and even third waves of the pandemic.
During the past 6 weeks, the number of Covid-19 infection cases has doubled, said the general director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. The US has been the hardest-hit by the pandemic, with 4.4 million infected cases and 150,000 deaths, followed by Brazil.
