Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernández de Cossío told reporters that the Cuban Government’s willingness has been in effect since before the reestablishment of diplomatic relations in 2014.
He said Cuba will not take the initiative to suspend dialogue, cooperation, or the discreet exchanges that take place on certain sensitive issues.
He added that Cuba will pay attention to the perspective of the new US government, but will maintain its steadfast stance of the past 64 years that it is ready to develop a serious relationship with Washington based on mutual respect and the protection of the sovereignty interests of both sides.
