This was a joint effort by the Region 14 forest protection sub-department and Ba To Commune People’s Committee.

The big-headed turtle is classified IB, a group of endangered, rare, and protected forest animals. Immediately after being released, the turtle adapted quickly and seeked shelter in accordance with the species’ natural behaviours.
The exploitation and commercial use of specimens taken from the wild is prohibited. They hold great scientific and conservation value and face the risk of extinction in nature.
