Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Iran has always been a responsible member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), accusing the US and the E3 group — comprising the UK, France, and Germany — of violating the 2015 nuclear agreement, while stressing that the activation of the snapback mechanism against Iran is illegal. On Saturday, Iran also summoned its ambassadors to the UK, France, and Germany for consultations.
The re-imposed sanctions on Iran include a weapons embargo, a ban on uranium enrichment and reprocessing, restrictions on activities related to ballistic missiles and missiles capable of carrying nuclear weapons, as well as the freezing of global assets and travel bans for Iranian individuals and entities.
