The two countries have set a target of 5 billion NZD in two-way trade by the end of 2026, signed a new arrangement on climate change, and are finalizing a 2025-2030 Plan of Action covering climate, science and technology, and defence, oceans, and security.

With growth of around 6% and a path toward high-income status, Vietnam has momentum and New Zealand will be a reliable partner on that journey, Minister Peters said.
