A Petrovietnam delegation led by Chairman Le Manh Hung held working sessions with Bulgarian counterparts to promote cooperation, particularly in energy security and long-term power development.

At a meeting with Bogomil Manchev, Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Atomic Forum (BULATOM), a member of the European Atomic Forum, both sides agreed that nuclear power is a stable, efficient and low-emission baseload energy source, playing a vital role in ensuring long-term energy security.

BULATOM expressed its readiness to cooperate with Vietnam by providing consultancy services, human resource training and experience sharing in the research, investment, construction and operation of nuclear power plants.

At a meeting with Hristo Aleksiev, Secretary to the President of Bulgaria, Petrovietnam’s leadership proposed cooperation with Bulgarian partners in several key areas, including human resource development in nuclear energy, scientific research cooperation in atomic energy and rare earths, and exchanges of experts in the nuclear power sector.

The Bulgarian side welcomed Petrovietnam’s proposals and agreed to promote expert-level exchanges, as well as organize practical working visits to Bulgaria in the coming period.

Addressing the Vietnam–Bulgaria Business Forum, Petrovietnam Vice President Phan Tu Giang reaffirmed the group’s interest in working with Bulgarian partners on research, investment and technology transfer in clean energy development, nuclear power, hydrogen production and green fertilizer manufacturing.

He stressed that such cooperation aims to advance sustainable energy development, while ensuring a balanced approach to energy security, economic efficiency and environmental protection.
