Speaking at a ceremony in Hanoi on Thursday to launch a national emulation movement on innovation and digital transformation, Prime Minister Chinh highlighted the significance of the event, stating that it seeks to realize the Party’s guidelines outlined in Resolution 57 on creating breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation into life.

Chinh emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are not only objective necessities and inevitable trends but also the only way to breakthrough; and enable the nation to overcome challenges, seize opportunities, build a strong and independent economy, and create a modern and civilized society, helping the country stand alongside powers worldwide.

"By 2030, Vietnam targets to achieve advanced capacity in science, technology, and innovation across key sectors, ranking among the leading upper-middle-income countries. The digital economy is projected to account for at least 30% of the national GDP. More than 80% of citizens and businesses are anticipated to use online public services; and digital infrastructure will be advanced, high-capacity, and ultra-broadband, comparable to that of developed nations," said the Prime Minister.
Earlier the same day, PM Chinh and other delegates visited exhibition areas showcasing innovative and digital transformation products of universities and businesses.
