Working with the provincial leadership on Sunday, Deputy PM Dung said the APEC Economic Leaders' Week is a particularly important foreign affairs mission of the Party and State that affirms Vietnam’s role and position on the international stage.
It will highlight the achievements of 40 years of national renewal, and create new momentum for Kien Giang province. The event is also an opportunity to promote Kien Giang and accelerate the rapid, sustainable development of Phu Quoc.
Stressing the urgency and necessity of the 29 projects to serve the APEC Economic Leaders' Week, Mr. Dung noted that all facilities, including the airport, the convention center, connectivity infrastructure, and other related projects must be completed several months ahead of the event to leave time for trial operation.
He called for special mechanisms tailored to these projects to ensure their timely completion, emphasizing that these projects are important nationally as well as locally.
