Meeting with Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Secretary General Martin Chungong on the sidelines of the 152nd Assembly of the IPU in Turkey, Chairman Man proposed that the organization continue supporting Vietnam’s National Assembly in improving its legislative and supervisory capacity, while facilitating its deeper participation in IPU mechanisms and forums, as well as hosting international and regional IPU events in the future.
He also noted that the recent National Assembly election recorded the highest voter turnout to date.
Chungong praised Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, and highlighted the National Assembly’s active and responsible contributions at inter-parliamentary forums, including the IPU.
He expressed appreciation for the Assembly’s cooperation and voiced hope for continued collaboration with Vietnam’s legislature, its deputies and partners.
On the same day, Chairman Man met with Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Sounthone Xayachak and President of the Belgian Senate Vincent Blondel.
