In his speech at the signing ceremony and high-level conference on the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime in Hanoi, Guterres said Vietnam has the skills and expertise needed to tackle global cybersecurity challenges.
He added that Vietnam is highly respected by the international community for its growing role in the global economy and on the world’s political and diplomatic stage.
As the world faces unprecedented challenges that demand equally unprecedented solutions, the UN Secretary-General recognized Vietnam’s active support for the UN’s reform process and its role in addressing global issues, particularly within the framework of the United Nations.
Guterres said Vietnam is hailed for rising from hardship to become one of the fastest-growing economies. Vietnam is now a key supporter of multilateralism and one of the strongest backers of UN initiatives and activities, he added.
