They agreed to promote mutually beneficial trade activities by leveraging each nation’s strengths; recognized each other’s advantages in artificial intelligence (AI), e-commerce, and digital transformation; and committed to advancing the application of new technologies for sustainable development.

Vietnam and Sri Lanka agreed to closely cooperate and support each other at regional and multilateral forums, stressing the importance of respecting and adhering to international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to maintain a stable and peaceful international maritime order.

The documents signed during the visit will lay the foundation for closer cooperation between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, elevating the good relations between the two countries to new heights, according to the joint statement.
