In his address at the Embassy’s solemn and emotional ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30), the Ambassador highlighted the remarkable development of Vietnam-US relationship, from confrontation to dialogue, from former foes to comprehensive strategic partners. This is the result of reconciliation process, painstaking efforts, and goodwill from both sides, he added.
The celebration is also an opportunity to pay tribute to previous generations who sacrificed for national independence and emphasize the responsibility of today's generation, especially those working in foreign affairs, in continuing to advance the Vietnam-US relationship in the face of numerous global challenges, according to Ambassador Dung.
