WAVES serves as a premier platform for fostering discussions, collaboration, and innovation in the media & entertainment (M&E) industry.
Under the theme "Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries”, the summit brought together more than 10,000 delegates, including artists, content creators, media professionals, investors, and policymakers from over 100 countries. It marked a significant step forward in nurturing a global ecosystem of talent and creativity, further expanding the scale of the global media and entertainment industry, which was projected to reach 2.96 trillion USD last year.
In his opening address, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said "WAVES is not merely an acronym but a wave representing culture, creativity, and universal connectivity”.
Mr. Modi called for Creative Responsibility, saying the goal is not to create robots but to nurture individuals with heightened sensitivity, emotional depth, and intellectual richness—qualities that cannot stem from information overload or technological speed alone.
Spanning four days from Thursday to Sunday, WAVES includes 42 plenary sessions, 39 breakout discussions, and 32 masterclasses. These will cover sectors like OTT, broadcasting, AVGC-XR, films, and digital media.
