The Assembly re-elected Tran Thanh Man, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly, to continue serving as Chairman of the 16th National Assembly. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, was elected President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026-2031 term. Le Minh Hung, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commision, was elected Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026-2031 term.
Phase II of the 16th National Assembly will take place from April 20 to April 23, with April 24 and 25 being contingency dates.
