In an interview to the press, Deputy FM Vu said this will be the first State visit by General Secretary and President To Lam as the highest leader of the Party and State. The trip takes place exactly one year after the State visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping (April 14-15, 2025). It’s the third time in less than two years that the two highest leaders of Vietnam and China conduct reciprocal visits.
The visit will contribute to strengthening political trust, promoting solutions to resolve some remaining differences and obstacles, and enhancing people-to-people exchanges and local cooperation. All these will help make the Vietnam-China relationship more stable and sustainable and make a positive contribution to peace, stability, and cooperation in the region and the world, according to the deputy foreign minister.
