According to Xinhua, during his meeting with To Lam on Wednesday, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President, “expressed confidence that under the strong leadership of the CPV Central Committee headed by To Lam, Vietnam will firmly follow the path of socialism.” Xi said China always regards Vietnam as a priority in its neighborhood diplomacy and seeks to advance high-quality comprehensive strategic cooperation with Vietnam in accordance with their “six more” orientations.
China Daily reported that China and Vietnam agreed to promote the special roles of the CPC and the CPV, conduct high-level exchanges, strengthen political trust, and make good use of the China-Vietnam “3+3” strategic dialogue on diplomacy, defense, and public security.
The People's Daily reported on the leaders' meet-and-greet with Vietnamese and Chinese youths as part of the “Red Study Tours” in Beijing. Xi said youths play an important role in developing the long-standing bond as “comrades and brothers.”
According to CCTV and Xinhua, To Lam also met with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Wednesday. Li said at that meeting that China stands ready to work with Vietnam to accelerate the development of infrastructure connectivity in areas such as standard-gauge railways, expressways, and smart ports; expand two-way trade and investment; and promote cooperation in artificial intelligence, clean energy, and critical minerals. The two announced the launch of a China-Vietnam tourism cooperation year for 2026-2027.
