The project will build infrastructure for the zone’s Functional Area No. 5, laying the foundation for Vietnam's first Free Trade Zone.

Addressing the event, Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee, insisted that the project is seen as a catalyst for Da Nang’s Free Trade Zone, which is strategically important for the city’s socio-economic growth.

“It also has symbolic meaning as Da Nang marks the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day on September 2 and the 23rd Party Congress of the municipal Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term. Today’s groundbreaking ceremony demonstrates the strong commitment of the city and investors to realize the vision of Da Nang as a major urban center, which is eco-friendly, smart, distinctive, sustainable, and globally connected,” Triet noted.

The Da Nang Free Trade Zone, located in central Vietnam, is the country’s first such zone, officially established under a prime ministerial decision in June 2025.
Covering nearly 1,900 hectares across Hai Van ward, Ba Na commune, and Hoa Vang commune, the FTZ is divided into seven functional areas focused on manufacturing, logistics, commerce and services, digital technology, IT, and innovation.
