At a ceremony to announce the appointment decision on Saturday, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised Mr. Trung’s sharp strategic thinking and diplomatic skills, stressing that in the new era, diplomacy, alongside safeguarding the Fatherland, must take the lead in identifying and seizing opportunities.
“We are building a comprehensive, modern, and professional diplomatic service on par with regional peers and international standards. Key tasks include training diplomats who are virtuous, competent, pioneering, steadfast, united, responsible, and innovative,” PM Chinh said.
Acting Minister Trung pledged to contribute to enhancing Vietnam’s position and prestige on the international stage.
