This is part of the letter from US President Donald Trump to NATO member countries and the world, published on the Truth Social on Saturday.
He also suggested NATO members consider imposing tariffs of 50% to 100% on China for its purchases of Russian petroleum in order to weaken China’s economic influence over Russia. China is one of the largest purchasers of Russian oil.
These tariffs would be fully lifted once the conflict between Russia and Ukraine comes to an end. According to President Trump, if NATO follows his suggestion, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will end soon.
In an interview with Fox News on Friday, President Trump said he has a good relationship with President Putin but expressed frustration at his failure to end the war. Trump said his patience with the Russian President was running out.
