UN Secretary-General António Guterres highlighted the anniversary as a moment to reflect on global challenges – from climate crises and conflict to poverty and inequality - and the need for multilateral solutions to advance peace, sustainable development, and human rights for all.

King Charles III of the UK said that the historic milestone reflects Vietnam’s spiritual strength, cultural traditions, solidarity, resilience, and increasing contributions to the international community. He expressed a desire to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in biodiversity conservation, climate change response, and environmental protection.

European Council President Antonio Costa praised Vietnam’s progress in achieving peace, stability, and socio-economic advancement.

Co-Chairs of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) Chung Eui-yong and Mushahid Hussain Sayed noted that Vietnam has demonstrated resilience, solidarity, and remarkable progress, becoming an inspiring example of independence, development, prosperity, and international integration over the past eight decades. They praised the country’s political, economic, and social achievements and its contributions to peace and stability.

The leaders of the UK, Belarus, Germany, Italy, Egypt, the UAE, Denmark, and Venezuela also sent congratulatory messages, letters, and greetings.
