[VOVWORLD] - Summer Design Workshop Re 2026 - Revitalizing Craft Villages has opened a new pathway for connecting indigenous knowledge with contemporary design thinking. The initiative also contributes to fulfilling Hanoi's commitment as a member of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network.

[VOVWORLD] - At a small house in the Ecopark urban area in Hung Yen province, bundles of ivory-white banana fibers and brightly colored handmade banana paper are dried under the summer sun. This is Cham Workshop, where a group of young artisans are transforming Vietnamese agricultural by-products into contemporary works of art.

[VOVWORLD] - Rolling tea plantations blanketing the hills of Vo Tranh commune in Thai Nguyen province are creating fresh opportunities for local economic growth. As demand for safe, high-quality agricultural products continues to rise, organic tea cultivation is boosting the value of local produce while opening the door to experiential tourism. The combination is building the Thai Nguyen tea brand, particularly that of Vo Tranh, and steering the region toward a greener, more sustainable future.

[VOVWORLD] - On the sun-drenched, windswept coastline of central Vietnam lies a small village where red-tiled houses cluster by the shore. Its wharf bustles with seafood trading every dawn and late afternoon, and golden sands and emerald waters stretch along the coast. This is Lang Lo, an ancient fishing village in Dak Lak’s Hoa Hiep ward, which is emerging as a distinctive model of heritage-based community tourism.

[VOVWORLD] - Located in Vietnam’s northwestern province of Lai Chau, Thu Lum commune is home to the Ha Nhi, La Hu, and Dao ethnic groups. Despite a low starting point, harsh natural conditions, and difficult transport links, Thu Lum has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years.

[VOVWORLD] - Bau Truc village in Ninh Phước commune, Khanh Hoa province, is best known for its centuries-old pottery tradition. Yet few people know that one family here is quietly safeguarding the Cham ethnic group’s ancient silver-carving craft—now almost the only place still producing the intricately engraved ritual objects used in Cham ceremonies.

[VOVWORLD] - The Cat Dang craft village in Van Thang commune, Ninh Binh province (formerly Yen Tien commune, Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province) has long been famous for its traditional lacquerware. Many of its creations have become enduring symbols of Vietnamese cultural and spiritual life. Today, Cat Dang lacquer products are widely used in Vietnam and highly sought-after exports in markets around the world.

[VOVWORLD] - In a small village in Ky Lua ward, Lang Son province, amid looms, weaving machines, and rows of indigo-dyed fabric, the Nung Phan Slinh women of Hop Tan hamlet are preserving their traditional embroidery and brocade-weaving craft and the cultural legacy of their people. Every motif woven into a garment reflects the lifestyle, customs, and spirit of the Nung ethnic community.

[VOVWORLD] - Famed for its masterful statue sculpture and lacquer gilding, Son Dong craft village in Hanoi has entered a new era after officially joining the World Crafts Council and the World Creative Craft Cities Network on May 8. The recognition opens up major opportunities to elevate the village’s brand and product value on the international market.

[VOVWORLD] - Many young people in Lam Thuong commune, Lao Cai province, are turning traditional stilt houses and a rich indigenous culture into tourism industry. Their efforts are creating sustainable livelihoods at home, preserving ethnic identities, and promoting tourism of Vietnam’s northern mountain region.
