OSCE appoints former Turkish Foreign Minister as Secretary General |
This decision was made during the 31st OSCE Ministerial Council Annual Meeting held in Malta over the past two days. Other key positions, vacant since September due to candidate disagreements, were also filled during the meeting.
Finland, which joined NATO in 2023, will assume the OSCE presidency on January 1, 2025, for a one-year term.
The OSCE, founded in 1975 and headquartered in Vienna, Austria, comprises 57 member states across Europe, North and Central Asia, and North America. It is dedicated to promoting stability, peace, and democracy throughout the Northern Hemisphere.
