The Vietnamese President made the remarks while hosting a state banquet in Hanoi on Monday in honor of visiting French President Emmanuel Macron and his spouse.
President Cuong said: “Vietnam considers science and technology a key driver of development, and we hope to deepen cooperation with France – a country with rich experience and a strong foundation in these fields. Together, we can develop breakthrough projects that serve not only our mutual interests but also contribute to addressing global challenges. With the strength of our long-standing ties, mutual trust, and the shared commitment of our leaders and people, I believe the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will continue to grow and achieve meaningful progress.”

President Macron said the bridges that bring the two countries closer together are built by the French-Vietnamese community, which will create a wonderful harmony between the two cultures and deepen the strong friendship that binds the people of Vietnam and France.

He praised Vietnam’s swift and remarkable transformation and its rising profile in the region and globally. France, he said, stands ready to deepen political, economic, cultural, and linguistic ties with Vietnam, and he welcomed the agreements signed during his visit as opening up new avenues for cooperation.
